    Re: Niang transformation

Agreed. This clown "weighs in" on every single thread here and eventually hijacks them and turns them into Twocoach threads.

I posted a facetious post about renaming this board...

    Re: Niang transformation

Hogue and Nader are not 5's. Edozie started against Uconn because Hogue isn't a 5 defender.

McKay and Niang will get most of the minutes, but either Edozie or the Greek (whoever is better) will...

    Re: Niang transformation

And now we have McKay (after Dec 20th), Edozie and the Greek kid to defend the 5. I'm sure that went into the equation.

    Re: Niang transformation

I still put him in a "tweener" category. He won't be able to defend NBA 3's and he'll have a very hard time in the paint against the length the NBA has.

He'll have himself in the mix for an NBA...

Re: Love Bob Stoops talking crap to the SEC

I think Bob reuniting with Mike, and their beat down of Alabama last year, may have gotten the monkey off their back that's been with him for a while in big games (bowl games).

    It will be...

    Re: Niang transformation

Even if he's lighter, there won't be many post players that can score 17+ on him, which is almost guaranteed to be his point production (on the low end).

He will be even harder to guard on...

    Re: Niang transformation

Regardless, having extra weight helps you down in the paint when someone is trying to back you down. I get what you're saying, but there is a reason why offensive linemen in the NFL aren't 275 with...

    Re: Niang transformation

Maybe he got in a little better conditioning compared to his FR year, but I don't think anything like this.

I think he sees how close this team was last year, and what they can do the next two...

Who needs an economy when you live on the beach? Seriously, that pretty much sums up all countries that are located in similar proximity to the ocean/beach with the same climate.

    Their problems...

Re: Dick Vitale on the Mayor & ISU

Ha, leave it to Cyclone fans to turn a very positive article written by one of the Mt Rushmore of basketball types into a b*tch-fest

    Greece is not that unappealing
  13. Re: *** Official U18 Euro Championship Thread ***

He runs and moves his feet well. I think if his attitude is right, Fred can work with him. He's not ready to dominate the league ala Embiid, but he could be a keeper who can become a good player...
  14. Re: *** Official U18 Euro Championship Thread ***

Yes, he was productive when he was on the court. It will be interesting to see if he can get more minutes.

I think having the level of coaching and competition here at ISU will really help him...
  15. Re: *** Official U18 Euro Championship Thread ***

That's probably the safe bet, and I'd say there's about a 1% chance that he redshirts and stays here for 5 years.

    Re: Emmanuel Malou

We lose a ton that year too, so if Malou can continue to refine his game, the playing time would be available.
  17. Re: *** Official U18 Euro Championship Thread ***

If he sucks, you have even less incentive to keep him around for 5 years, tying up a scholarship longer.

If he can contribute, playing time this year will help in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

    If he...

    Re: Emmanuel Malou

He would have to get a degree, but I'm pretty sure his HS record wouldn't factor in anymore if he received a degree that was recognized by ISU.
  19. Re: *** Official U18 Euro Championship Thread ***

It's just the European thing. He's very unlikely to want to ride the pine for very long and spend 5 years away from his family for a team that he didn't know existed 3 months ago.

    I think you try...

As long as he gets a recognizable degree and stays out of trouble I guess.
