Agree. I've never thought it made sense for promotion-demotion unless a sports league/organization has enough roster consistency over a long span. Pre-free agency pro sports era, it could work. With...
I've long liked the contrast of USC-UCLA game with the home jerseys.
Purely out of curiosity, could anyone here photoshop an Iowa State-Iowa action photo with both teams in home jerseys?
It looks like Pac-10 (12) rule was changed in 2009 to accommodate USC-UCLA tradition (unless there was another change since then):
NCAA to change rule to accommodate tradition
I read it that way, too.
His voice comes through well early in the piece, not so much as it continues. It comes and goes. It's obviously augmented throughout. It's OK, I know Vitale isn't a...
If there's no chance for gold helmets/gold pants on the road, I'd be fine with THIS and an all-white helmet-jersey-pants with the cardinal/gold stripes (for those who prefer the all-white...
It's a good middle-ground. You're correct that it sets it apart just enough from the USC comparison, keeps the new identity/branding, and isn't some offshoot atrocity "just because it's possible."
I'm still leaning 5-7/4-8, but his guesses look OK.
Biggest doubt for me is Oklahoma State as a W on the road, but a loss at TCU, especially if he picks KSU to win because coaching staff hasn't...
It's easy to forget several losses were so close, overshadowed by the humbling loss to UNI, and the beatdowns vs. BU, KSU, OSU & OU. (And Texas and TCU were crushing because they were so winnable).
Can we retroactively rescind a half-season of Staiger' s playing time and give it to McKay?
I am willing to forfeit that Drake win when he actually scored a bunch.
Didn't see a link posted yet.
He's more optimistic than many of us, record-wise:
I've got news for you: Cyclones won't finish 9th
Don’t forget, the bench in this scenario comprises Dorsey-Walker, Tsalmpouris and Jackson. Fred could “coach it up,” but only so far.
W Georgia State
Keep in mind, this is a starting lineup vs. every Big 12 team's *real* starting lineup.
8th is probably the ceiling. Competitive ceiling, exciting at times, but still a ceiling.
Team A is also three-fifths of the actual 2013-14 starting lineup, plus Clyburn — not a bad framework.
So you meant Team B, not A, correct?
I would expect roughly the same as Fred's first season as coach. Reliable returning unit with known talent; a few players we haven't seen in action for ISU; and almost no bench.
Yeah. But who knows, maybe this is the year.
Based on those lines, I would bet this way (my margin in parentheses — red ISU wins):
ISU -7.5 vs ND St (7)
ISU +5.5 vs KS ST (14)
ISU +10.5 @ Iowa (13)
ISU +23.5 vs Baylor (28)
ISU +16.5 @ Ok...
After a quick game-by-game run-through:
OU 12-0 (9-0)
Baylor 10-2 (7-2)
Kansas State 10-2 (7-2)
Texas 9-3 (6-3)
Oklahoma State 7-5 (5-4)
TCU 6-6 (3-6)
Texas Tech 5-7 (3-6)
Iowa State 5-7...
I could have leaned toward Niang, it was close .. Not many of the advantage swings were absolute, that one seemed closest to a push.
Straight-up advantage comparison by position:
G - Kane (A)
G - Babb (B)
G/F- Clyburn (A)
F - White (B)
F - Niang/Ejim (Push)
