  1. Re: New (Temporary?) Purdue South end zone renderings

I don't see why people think this is so dumb. I think it would be awesome if the patio of the Jacobson building looked more like this.

Re: *** Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Thread ***

I just realized Yedlin, Green, and Brooks will all be under 23 for the 2016 Olympics. Don't know how that will work with the 2016 Copa America also, but 2016 could be a fun summer.

Poll: Re: ISU Get A New Helmet After All...

Ugh, more red logo on red helmet which are almost impossible to match. Do you think this will be used at a home game? I just don't see it working that great with cardinal jerseys.
  4. Re: Indiana offers lifetime degree guarantee for students who leave early

Maybe on some of the other stuff, but the lifetime tuition for former student athletes doesn't seem like it would be.
  5. Re: Indiana offers lifetime degree guarantee for students who leave early

I don't see why. When a student receives scholarship money to cover tuition, books, and fees, it's not income. It's reported to the IRS and you can't claim that you paid that money for tuition as...

Re: Friday OT - Your "Meh" Sports

I don't feel like I have many sports I'm meh about. I really like the variety available in so many different sports and enjoy learning about them. I've been on a mission to find a favorite team in...

Re: *** Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Thread ***

I think the difference is Altidore is the typical big target for passes from the defenders or defensive midfielders. It's his job to knock the ball down and get it to Bradley or Dempsey to then lead...

Re: Matt Thomas apologizes for arrest

Yeah, I think the transition to college was perhaps more challenging for Matt than perhaps your average person, which is perhaps not surprising given his childhood. He still seems like a great kid...

Re: *** Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Thread ***

I don't think there's really any #15/#16 teams that qualify for the World Cup. I'd say it's more like only the top half of the NCAA tournament with the biggest upsets being like a #8 over a #1.

Re: *** Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Thread ***

I think the NCAA tournament is the perfect analogy. The "blue-blood" countries have the highly touted players that play for the top clubs. But I think you see a lot of them not as dedicated and...
  11. Re: Why USA isn't a world power in soccer (yet)

I think the trade-off would be more blowouts and less chance for upsets by underdogs. That's the one thing I've found about soccer is almost every game for the top teams in the English and other top...

    Re: Isaiah Austin

Yeah, obviously most NBA players don't have Marfan's. And even most tall, skinny people don't have Marfan's. I don't think Austin's body type is that different from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Shawn...

    Re: Isaiah Austin

I've wondered before if there might be NBA players with Marfan's Syndrome since they tend to be unusually tall. Does anybody know if the NBA automatically tests for it or if there was some suspicion...

    Re: Solar Roadways

This seems really silly to me. I just can't see how combining roads and solar panels is cheaper than building roads and solar panels separately. It seems even solar panels in road ditches would...

Re: BYU wants in the Big 12

I think the 9 conference football games is here to stay so I don't see 11 schools happening.

My favorite is the one about Men's basketball coach takes student-athlete and recruit golfing. Do you think Fred lets them win or does he kick their butt?

Re: Would you take a football scholarship?

For me, money doesn't have much to do with it. I had the opportunity to meet a couple St. Louis Rams players in a neurology clinic and it was an eye-opening experience for me. You couldn't have...

Re: Would you take a football scholarship?

Personally, based on my experiences and knowing what I know now, I'd say no. But I don't know if I'd have made the same decision when I was starting college. And I realize it's pretty hypocritical...
