    Re: Returning to Ames

I'm not a moron. Sorry you feel justified in name calling.
    I didn't yell at folks.
Loathing is a bit of a stretch don't you think?
    Words have meaning JMB.
By the way, your metaphor failed on...

    Re: Returning to Ames

A scathing and appropriate metaphor JMB, ........ and accurate too ........ well, maybe the first sentence.
    It was really quite simple.
I read the first page of this thread.
    I found out that the...

    Re: Returning to Ames

Allin, it was 2:45 yesterday afternoon.
The first page of this thread said they would return around 3-4:00.
I was there early to get a "good parking place."

    Re: Returning to Ames

I think that Erik was right when he stated that they didn't want any announcement of their return.
The players were obviously VERY tired from the flight and the bus ride.
    I had just hoped there...

    Re: Returning to Ames

We will have to agree to disagree.
While I share your disdain for the lack of an official announcement for their return,
it would not seem to be out of the realm of possibility that more than a...

    Re: Returning to Ames

I suspect there WILL be an official celebration for the teams' accomplishments.
You will not change my mind. A spontaneous show of support, in my mind, is just as important as showing up for a...

    Re: Returning to Ames

Erik, I have no quibble with the point you are making.
The point I am making is that whether official or not, there should have been more than 10 people there don't you think?
    Two minutes before...

    Re: Returning to Ames

I drove up from Des Moines around 2:00ish.
The team got back to Sukup about 2:45.
There was a crowd. I would have estimated it to be around 10 maybe 12 people. There were a few blue hairs present...

    Do you know the stats?

I heard that in the last 5 games, the last 5 minutes the Cyclones are shooting like 85% and in the 80's at the free throw line and some crazy percentage from three.
    Does anyone have those statistics...

Re: Iowa state thanks the fans

    I'm with you Erik.
    VERY classy.
What a terrific message from the team and from the University.
It isn't difficult to say thank you, when the opportunity presents itself.... and yet it isn't always...

Yea, JK, I'm not disputing that........... it's just interesting to see how the "gamble" has paid off.
Hindsight is 20/20 but that is why looking at the comments of four years ago, is so...

Do not despair young padawan......... it is easy to confuse dates in a thread.

The idea of the thread was to revisit it EVERY year after March Madness.
We could then discuss the previous...

    Hmmmmmm.
Well,...... all Fred would have to do is show him film of Kane this year.
Compare his stats from his previous life to the life of a Cyclone.
Is it that outlandish an idea?

Re: lack of depth, age - shows on road

Tyrus McGee really "spoiled" us. The national 3 point shooting percentage (according to statsheet.com) thus far this year is 33.46 percent, or roughly one in three. Tyrus shot 46.3 percent his last...

    Hmmmmm.
While I clearly respect your opinion, I think the team MVP is Georges. I can think of at least 3 games in the last several minutes that we don't win with out him.
    The offense runs through...
