Re: Montgomery and Thomas are gone

I disagree. Next year is very important. If they go 4-8, that isn't the end of the world, but if they go 7-5, that launches recruiting into another stratosphere.
  2. Re: *** #14 IOWA STATE vs Texas Tech Game(day) Thread ***

McKay has almost single handily taken down this team with his ineffective defense and pouting head games. I hope the comes back focused because if not, this thing is going to end badly.

Re: Montgomery and Thomas are gone

I'm really hoping that since Candle was left in Toledo and the OL coach is OC at ISU, they see the error in running shotgun on short yardage. Lanning is big enough to sneak most of the time.

Re: Montgomery and Thomas are gone

About "getting our MAC on"...ISU is a ways from mediocrity now. I don't know what fantasyland some of these guys were living in, but the team sucked. Maybe some of the new twitter and video...

Re: Montgomery and Thomas are gone

Yeah, I don't get the concern. RB is a position that you can play early. Just like Thomas did last year. Sure he was a decent short yardage back, but for the most part he was busting out 1-3 yard...

    Re: Departures?

I watched him get destroyed multiple times trying to block DBs that he had 6"+ on. Seems like unless he was getting a bunch of balls thrown his way, he would disappear. If he decides to move on, ISU...
  8. Re: A break down of Iowa state recruiting class from sport treatise

Pretty sure that is where the players line up relative to the hash. If the ball is on the left hash, the RCB is the boundary corner, the LCB is the field corner.

Re: Simeon Carter gets 4 minutes

Still don't know why Prohm wasn't putting in guys like Carter and Ashton earlier in the season during some of those nonconference blowouts. I think that would have paid off both in experience and...

Re: RECRUITING: In-state kicker, preferred walk-on

And ISU has one in Netten. A lot of teams give PK scholarships to walk ons rather than risk giving a four year scholarship to a high schooler. Seems like a good strategy to me. Bring in some...

Re: so the big question out of this recruiting class

We'll see on the TEs. They currently have 5 TEs on the roster: A SR walk-on who has played some, a new JUCO (Fernandez) who has only played the position 2 years, a JR walk-on, a RSSoph who hasn't...

Re: so the big question out of this recruiting class

    Here are my guesses:

Wertle - starts at LS right away
Green - likely starter at Center
Oge - Two deep at OG
Payne - eventual starter at CB. Two deep to begin, but I think he beats out Tribune...

    Re: McKay's Knee

Assuming the knee is ok, it is going to be up to Niang, Morris and Naz to get him pointed back in the right direction. They're gonna need him.

    Re: Defense Destroyed Kansas

McKay kills the flow both offensively and defensively. They need him, but they seem to have their best stretches with him on the bench.

    Re: Cameron Lard Thread

I do think that theyll get a SR eligible big and if not a JUCO like Bol. My guess:

    PG: Morris
    SG: Jackson
    SF: Thomas
    PF: Malou
    C: transfer

Naz, Babb, Burton, Ernst and Carter coming off...
  16. Re: RECRUITING: Official visitors from 1-24-15 through 1-26

Nowhere did the coaches say he was better than any other recruit either. Just because iowa and Nebraska offered does not make him automatically better than anyone else they have committed.
  17. Re: RECRUITING: Official visitors from 1-24-15 through 1-26

I love the false narrative that a three star, non-rated recruit would automatically be our best commit. Let me guess, the people who are pushing that viewpoint are iowa fans who either want to gloat...

I too don't understand why someone would go to Pitt. Not bagging on the kid, it's his decision and I'm sure that there are a lot of positives there. It just seems like the FB program and university...

Re: This isn't CSPs fault, it's CFHs fault

The fans and the new coach would have been MUCH better off if FH would have left after the UCONN loss.
