Re: David Boren doesn't hold back

IMO, the ACC is in a far worse position than the B12 from a stability standpoint, and it isn't even close. They're currently getting paid less and they historically have worse TV ratings.

Re: David Boren doesn't hold back

The next big domino will be the B1G's TV deal, which gets renegotiated this year. If that gets done and its head and shoulders above everyone else, you'll see movement. If it's not, you probably...
  3. Re: New P5 (or P6) Conference...Give the Texas and OK the finger...The Big X

Those schools would go from current per school payouts from $25M-$45M down to $2M-$4M.

Re: Coaching Search Rumors - Consolidated Thread

Being the 4th/5th choice in Florida is easier than being the 2nd choice in Iowa. Particularly when you don't have to play against Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Etc.

I'm not saying UCF is a grand slam...

Re: Coaching Search Rumors - Consolidated Thread

The schedule and recruiting are the reasons UCF is also viewed more favorably than ISU by some.

Either school will be looked at as a springboard job - at UCF it's easier to recruit (i.e. all the...

Re: Coaching Search Rumors - Consolidated Thread

There have been national media members that have stated UCF is a more attractive position than ISU.

I agree that is debatable - I said as much in the post. I think the ISU job is better, but...

Re: Coaching Search Rumors - Consolidated Thread

I'd say all of the following would be more appealing than ISU (that would be viewed as being on the same level):

    Illinois
    Maryland
    South Carolina
    Missouri
    UCF (Debatable, certainly)

    The...

    Re: Sparty got screwed

Best part about that is it probably locks up a Rose Bowl appearance for Iowa assuming Iowa and Ohio State win out.

I was worried that a 12-1 Iowa could get passed over by the Rose Bowl for an 11-1...
  9. Re: Initial College Football Playoff Rankings Released

Is Georgia Tech a good team because they beat FSU? Like Gonzo said, upsets happen all the time. Didn't think that was a difficult concept to understand in college athletics.

    My entire previous...
  10. Re: Initial College Football Playoff Rankings Released

Right, the Indiana team that was up 10-6 on tOSU at half time is "Terrible". Or the one that was only down by three points to MSU going into the 4th quarter, they were "Just Awful".

    No one here...
  11. Re: Initial College Football Playoff Rankings Released

No, it's not crazy at all.

A 13-0 conference champion that defeated a previously undefeated defending national champion in their last game of the season (tOSU) would never get left out. If there...

Re: Week 1 Semi-Official CFP poll Thread

Iowa isn't going undefeated, but if they did, there's a 0% chance they get left out. They absolutely control their own destiny at this point.

You honestly believe a 13-0 team who's last win was...

    Re: National Perception

You don't care because you're clueless, other ISU fans in the thread have expressed the same opinion that I have, so it isn't just a "hok" thing.

The entire premise of your first post was that he...

    Re: National Perception

It's rare that I see posts so easy to tear apart, but you did a really good job of teeing this one up for me.

    Re: National Perception

I really hope you guys hire Brady Hoke, I say that with 100% sincerity. I suppose you'd hire Ron Zook too, he's also a phenomenal recruiter.

Recruiting and Player Development are two different...

    Re: National Perception

Sounds like Greg Schiano might be in the lead for the Miami job currently.

Brady Hoke couldn't win at Michigan, that would be a horrendous hire for ISU.

Still think Troy Calhoun would be a...

    Re: Two Game Mini Packs

What percentage of season tickets do you think are donor seats? Seriously curious, as I have no clue.

A savvy buyer who purchased season tickets without a donation could look at these mini-packs...

    Re: Wasting FB Tickets

Problem is, ISU doesn't have any kind of history of stringing together winning seasons - that's my point.

Pollard went all in on turning football around now, or his expansion is going to look like...

    Re: Wasting FB Tickets

The key reason you're going to have a lot of seats empty is that the demand just isn't there to fill a 61,500 seat stadium for ISU consistently - unless ISU can consistently field a competitive team....
