I don't think Schwartz thinks half the time.

Nice decision to bench broyles today. ****

Re: houston @ detroit Forsett TD
First thing- why is it even a penalty for throwing the red flag? What's the difference between that play and any other play when a coach throws the flag and the refs tell him it's not reviewable? There's no penalty in that situation.
Second thing - announcers did a horrible job of explaining why it wasn't reviewed.
Third thing- There really isn't much diiference between the real refs and the replacement refs.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -

Re: houston @ detroit Forsett TD
Dumb rule. Kubiak could throw a challenge flag on that just so they couldn't challenge it. Flaw in the rule book.

Another that bothers me is that if these were replacement refs, people would be all over the refs. Fact is most refs suck but we never here about it

I think they did say that the reason it wasn't reviewed was because it could not benefit the Lions because of the penalty. Sill dumb as all hell but I don't think what you described could happen.

I want the replacement refs back after watching this game. Wow. Just turrible.

That blown call is looming large now.....

Re: houston @ detroit Forsett TD
How many chances can the lions **** up?

Re: houston @ detroit Forsett TD
The NFL needs to learn that the point of instant replay is to NOT HAVE ANY BLOWN CALLS, not be some cutesy game within the game of Let's Make a Deal to see if anyone can do something to end up screwing themselves.
Get rid of the challenge flags, do it the college way.

Re: houston @ detroit Forsett TD
As a Bears fan I am kind of laughing here...however, they need to tweak that rule so that it doesn't affect plays that are automatically reviewed. If Forsett had been tackled at the 1 yard line (and Detroit didn't have any challenges left or inside the last 2 minutes) the play would have NOT been reviewable under my amendment...but since he scored...it triggers an automatic review...no harm...no foul...reviewable since play was stopped anyway for a review.
Seems simple enough to me.
