Another thing that Qwest doesn't really publicize: you can get a measured phone line that gives you an allowance of minutes per month. It's a lot like a cell phone plan. You pay a monthly amount for either 3 hours or 6 hours of usage, and any minutes used over your allowance are charged at a per minute rate. We rarely use our landline but don't want to get rid of it completely, so we recently switched to the 3-hour plan. I forget how much it is, but it's definitely less than a regular, unlimited-use landline.
