A statistic I also like for a point guard: He's 29 of 47 FG, 20 of 28 FT. Good balance of attempts from field and line. High field goal percentage suggests high-percentage shots (and not resorting to a lot of chucking) and drawing fouls, so he's penetrating (or a threat to penetrate).
I thought maybe another way to show how his role has changed from his last year at Marshall would be to look at those stats compared to his stats here so far. The numbers in black are his stats in his last year at Marshall. The numbers in red are his stats so far at ISU. I didn't see any reason to look at his freshman or sophomore years at Marshall. The differences in some key areas are pretty stark. Granted, this is a pretty small sample size, but I can't come up with any reason that the way DeAndre has played so far will change that much, except the competition will be somewhat better overall in conference.

I'm no expert, and you can all discuss what you see in these numbers, but it is pretty clear that he is not having to carry as much of the load, and yet even with reduced minutes, he is much more productive.
-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".
Generic comment. You know he's liking ISU (team, competition, coaching) way more than Marshall. He came here to be on a team that can compete in March. He has been a vocal leader with our integrated team. I'm thankful for this
