Re: Brand NEW: Monte Morris highlights at the MLK Freedom Classic
He looks better and better every video I see of him. He very well could come in and play a lot next year. We know hes a smart kid, hes a leader, he has the ball on a string. So, in my estimation, if he can play any kind of defense, he may just sneak his way into the starting pt guard position sooner than we all think. Very exciting prospect.

Alright! We'll have somebody who can bank in the three. I see KU revenge in our future.

Love it. He's going to be good for us. He can shoot it, finish, handle the ball and his passing is pretty good too. I like the amount of energy he has too. If he can penetrate in D1 eventually, he'll be real killer IMO, but will wait to see him at ISU.

I like seeing that ability for the quick, pull-up jumper in the lane. That is a nice tool for a point guard to have. Hard to tell from a highlight video what percentage he makes of them, but what you can tell is that he has the ability to do it quickly and under control and also with good form. That means something at least.

Is he still growing? Anyone else think he seems taller than the videos from last spring and this past summer? IIRC, Fred mentioned he may be.

Re: Brand NEW: Monte Morris highlights at the MLK Freedom Classic
He never looks out of control, which seems to happen often when guys at that level are going full speed. That banked in three was a horrible shot selection, but otherwise he seemed to make good (& not overly flashy) decisions with the ball.
Excited to see him in Hilton!

Thought the same thing when viewing the video - maybe we can take advantage of his height like we did occasionally with Diante Garrett

A couple nights after Matt Thomas dropped 50, Morris had 20pts 11rbs 9asts and 8stl. Almost a quadruple double. I think our backcourt will be pretty solidified!

Has good hands, smooth, finishes around the rim well. We'll need him to play minutes next year.

Love his offense. Would like to see his play on defense, because he seems to get plenty of steals when you read his stats, but defense doesn't usually make the highlight tapes for guards.
He needs to get in a weight room soon though, and start drinking some shakes.

Im very excited for Morris to get here. I still think Naz Long will be our starter next year though.

Either way, next year I think being a starter means less than it has the first three years (at least for anyone not named Melvin and Georges). Naz and Morris can both slide over to an off-guard spot.

I bet he starts next year
