Just went skydiving through Skydiving Des Moines a couple days ago and all I have to say is everyone and anyone needs to give this a shot before you die. It's the most liberating feeling I've ever done and is a lot different than I expected. I imagined it being a lot like a rollercoaster, but it was way different. There was no knot in your stomach like you get from falling on a rollercoaster, physics guys care to explain? Anyways I will definitely be doing it again in the near future.

Skydiving is definitely on my bucket list. I would love to be able to do it.

I wish I would have done it when I was young. Talked about it forever. When I finally got ready to do it, found out it is not covered by life insurance. With two small kids at home, probably not wise. Yes, I know that sounds boring.

So I am glad you did it and am also jealous!

Did it once, proud to say I did it. I will never ever do it again, I hated every second of it.

I jumped 3 times in 1981. There were no tandem jumps. You strapped on a round chute with a static line and if you didn't jump (more like fall) when they said so they would push you.
I would have loved to do it again but I couldn't afford it at the time.

Wife and I did it on our first anniversary. Definitely something I'd do again if I had the cash laying around.

I have zero desire to go skydiving. The youtube videos are cool, though.

I went when I was about 23. It was a blast, I would have done it over and over given the opportunity - but now that I have children, I probably wouldn't do it again (just in case). It was a huge rush, though.

Cool photo. It's definitely on my bucket list. I've always wanted to do it on one of our Vegas trips but haven't yet.

I did it first with a round chute. LALO jump. (Low altitude, Low opening). Then a did that a few times. Then I did a few tandom. Then a did about 10 solo. I really like it. However, I kind of suck at the solo stuff. I never gained enough control really to enjoy the solo stuff. Then I had kids and quit.

I did it the same way Cylones_R_GR8 did it. It was a lot of fun. I remember part of our 1 hour training was jumping off a picnic table. This was to learn how to land. I think we were at 3300 feet with the static line.

Just a little tidbit that you have a greater chance of dying on the way to the airport than you do actually skydiving :)

I did a tandem jump with a buddy down in Winterset about 10 years ago. It was a great experience, but a guy that jumped at the same time as us that was doing his first solo landed on one of the airplane hangar roofs and broke his leg on one of the standing seams.

They had a really difficult time trying to get him down off the roof and into the ambulance. I enjoyed skydiving and am glad I experienced it but don't have a desire to make a habit of it.

My dad did over 1400 jumps, delivered the game ball to the iowa iowa state game, jumped into veishea, and performed a wedding. I'm terrified of heights and never will do it.
