    Rockford Files as a favorite of mine too. Great one hour Drama... and MUCH better than Magnum.

    RIP Garner, a hell of an actor.

    If any of you own a '70's vintage Firebird you should take it out and do a couple 180 degree "Rockford" turns as a tribute!

    BTW, I was in 1[SUP]st[/SUP] grade when Maverick started but sang along with the Maverick lyrics in the video michaelrr1 posted. How the hell would I remember that.

    You should rent the two I put up...he was a wonderful actor, always had a certain charm regardless of the character he played.

    One of the first DVDs my son requested when he was in Iraq was "The Great Escape". It was borrowed so frequently that he left it there when his deployment was over.

    Stand alone, it might have been okay. Paled in comparison to the original (tv show).

    too young for the show but recall Rockford, although that may have even been in syndication.

    I loved the movie! But I've never seen the tv show, so maybe it was because I wasn't comparing the two.

    No one and I mean no one got punched in the gut more than Jim Rockford

    At least once an episode the heavy dropped him with a stomach punch
