Happy Fourth of July Fanatics! What plans do you have for today?

I am just wrapping up at the office and will soon head home to start up the smoker and throw some pork loin on. I have a book bag (yes a book bag) full of fireworks that I plan on shooting off before the city fireworks show. Should be a great day! Have a safe and fun Fourth fanatics!

On Saturday night, going to a free concert on Main Street in Ames with Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Fantastic pedal steel guitar player and what I would call "progressive R&B" music.

    Freedom and liberty.

Think about most of the world, and then thank Divine Providence and our armed forces that you live in the USA. Do not take it for granted.

Ran a half marathon, heading to Twins-Yankees this afternoon, then home to grill for my last day back in MN.

Yankee Doodle Pops. Not sure if there is a greater event in Iowa all year.

I'll drink a beer if I damn well feel like it. And I do.

Just submitted my Ph.D. dissertation, so I'm going to have a few beers, watch a bit of World Cup, then head to Boone Speedway for "Eve of Destruction". I can't think of a better day.

Watching The Story of America on History Channel. It's pretty cool, it's been on all day.
