I'm still riding high on the whole experience of being there for ISU's win over KU in the semis and for ISU's first Big 12 title since 2000, but this fan base deserves some major props.

Everywhere I went in KC, Cyclones were there. Fans of other schools would comment. Random people on the street not connected with any Big 12 school would comment. I ran into a Jayhawk fan who lamented "y'all taking over our city."

We held our own on Friday with KU and kept it a semi-neutral site. Then on Saturday, we obliterated all expectations. If you weren't there, I'm not sure you can truly grasp just how heavily Cyclone the crowd was. And they were getting up possession after possession trying to move the needle in the first half and the second.

Hilton South is real! And this fan base made it happen. What an awesome weekend!

I was far too far away to be able to make it to KC (puerto rico) but i was amazed by just how many people that i knew made it down yesterday when i started seeing pictures on facebook during and after the game.

Agreed watched the game in the bar last night couldn't hear it but could see it painted red and gold. I'm watching the replay now since I'm home and am still in the first half and think I've got chills 15 times from the crowd

Easily more ISU fans in the Sprint Center last night then are in Hilton for a game. I was so impressed with our fan base yesterday.

I loved the Walter's call, "Iowa State has still never lost a home game to Baylor"

On Friday KU fans outnumbered ISU fans 3 to 1. still very respectable considering lawrence is like 30 minutes from there and it's a KU town.

On Saturday, ISU fans outnumbered Baylor fans 50 to 1. it was impressive.

The sprint Center holds 19k. there were easily 17k ISU fans in that place on Saturday night. Our fan base is incredible.

ISU/KU game was one of the most electric basketball games I have ever have witnessed (and I've witnessed thousands). I have never seen a roof almost blow off the roof no matter who made a basket. It was just like watching the birth of a child....I could try to explain how amazing it was, but until you experience it yourself you won't have a clue how amazing it is.

Now, the Baylor game.....a total snoozer for 35 minutes, but luckily we kept within distance the entire time to take over at the end and win it.

CYCLONE NATION WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME ALL WEEKEND!!! We had a blast here in KC and every single person I talked to did as well. Even had an Okie State fan buy me a beer and thank us for beating those damn Jayhawks.

2nd this. KU/ISU is the best atmosphere I've ever been in for any sporting event. the arena was going completely nuts the entire game.

I would have loved to have been there on Saturday. Having visitors in town made it impossible.

But I'll be down in San Antonio trying to give the Cyclones a home court advantage this weekend.

"The KU game was one of the most electric basketball games I have ever witnessed." TRUE. It was truly incredible with our fans matching theirs so that every single play seemed to bring an ovation.

"The Baylor game was a "total snoozer for 35 minutes." FALSE.

Were you even inside the stadium? 17,000 Cyclone fans were not snoozing. Nearly everyone in the lower bowl rose up to cheer almost every time we were on defense, even though Baylor seemed to keep making tough shots after good defensive stands. Indeed, it went bonkers late in the game when we took over, but it was hardly a "snoozer" before that. All through the game, the band was doing a great job in playing things that got the fans going (the da, dum, dum, dum, "Go State" is still ringing in my head) and small groups of fans were getting their own chants started that sometimes led to the whole stadium joining them. In fact, I have to say it may have been the best expression of Hilton Magic that I've ever experienced . . . and it was accomplished largely by a lot of old people staying on their feet and screaming for defensive stands, then going crazy when we finally pulled away.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the ISU/KU game and only could go down on Saturday, but I could feel the electricity through the TV. The crowd, the players, and the coaches were all just flat out intense. It felt like a Final 4 game. Man, I wish I could have been there.

Haven't had a chance to comment on the KC experience a lot. Immediately following the win over KU, we looked online and snatched up 4 row 7 tickets for the ISU/Baylor game. As we drove from DSM down to KC, we passed or were passed by numerous cars with ISU flag/plates/stickers and we'd all wave at each other .

Once we got down to the Sprint Center, I couldn't believe what I saw. Just an endless sea of cardinal and gold. When we turned the corner to enter into the KC Live area, my jaw just dropped. I've never seen a gathering like this outside of Ames. I was so impressed and proud of our fan base. The pep rally was great and it was so awesome just partying with so many ISU fans. I felt like I had 20,000 new friends.

Once we got into the Sprint Center and it began to fill up, the vibe was already electric. The crowd was really into the game, even during the bad first half. As soon as 3sus and Ejim nailed those first two 3-pointers around the 6-7 minute mark, the place just went nuts. I was at the Michigan Iowa and OSU games at Hilton this year. The Sprint Center rivaled those games. People were cheering, clapping and yelling through the whole game, especially in the end. I can't remember being more proud of our fanbase than this game. This place really, truly became Hilton South.

I didn't have the fortune of being at the ISU/Oklahoma State football game back in 2011, so for me, this was my all-time favorite Cyclone experience. The only thing that could top this would be winning the whole damn thing!

I was kind of disappointed that a lot of people waited for us to beat KU to come down, The people that were down there from the first tip did a great job representing though we were outnumbered by KU fans in the Sprint, The bars at P&L during the game seemed to have KU fans outnumbered.

If we sold beer to everyone at Hilton and had this kind of success, we'd have to add a few more seats.

The beer was not a big factor in our attendance.

Many of us have jobs that we can't walk out on with short notice...and limited vacation time. We bought tickets Friday night and headed down Saturday morning. We could have stayed home if you'd prefer?
