All these negative threads (and rightfully so), so there needs to be a few positive ones, and Downing deserves some recognition. 45.7 avg on 6 punts is pretty impressive for a true freshman! He's gonna be a good one. Can't wait to see him throw some passes and run the ball.

Another positive is only 5 penalties for 31 yds... so 2 positives the whole day.

The first quarter ----a positive. The first quarter was a killer last year.

I had a enough beer to make it through the game - and that was not a given by end of the 3rd quarter.

We have always had good punters. Probably because of so much game day action.

    More positives:

    1. My 60" Panasonic plasma survived the game
    2. I didn't even drink and was sober to run errands this afternoon.
    3. I ran the errands without crashing my car or getting any speeding tickets.
    4. I bought a new cell phone as one of the errands.
    5. My old cell phone totally crapped it's pants so I couldn't call or receive calls today (really really positive thing).
    6. I set up gamewatches for this game and the next two BEFORE this game so wouldn't have to struggle with motivation to do those (I am totally demoralized right now). Volunteer work is easier if at least slightly motivated.
    7. I've decided to visit family in eastern Iowa next week rather than attend the game (positive family relationship stuff!).

Major positive is at least your cell phone didn't crap your pants or you yourself didn't crap your pants!

Richardson can run the heck out of the ball on broken plays. Other than that he isn't so good... but he is great at getting those yards ...

I guess if there's one position this staff can evaluate, it's Punter. Unfortunately, the other positions they're not so good at. Getting tired of having a Punter as MVP.

A punter as the teams MVP is sadly not something very new here.
