So I have the number one pick in our standard scoring, 12 person league. Our league always eats up RB's right away, so I need to take a RB with my first pick (that's not debatable). I am pretty much stuck between drafting Jamaal Charles or LeSean McCoy at this point. Charles seems to be all the "experts" number 1 choice, but I'm hesitant because I cant recall a single time the number one projected ever ended up being the number 1. I want to draft McCoy, but I'm afraid his production will slip a little with Sproles being added.

Want to get CF's opinion on who you would take. I've added Peterson and Forte to the poll as well.

McCoy.
He led the league in rushing attempts and carries. Sproles will take some work away but that won't hurt Shady. The pass heavy offense will also generate receiving yards and TDs. He touches the ball more than Charles and has avoid injuries unlike AP. Go with McCoy hands down.

McCoy. He will get his touches, is an electric football player, and Chip Kelly is a genius

AP has been virtually non-existent the last two years and will probably continue to be as long as the Vikings don't have any sort of passing attack.

Chiefs fan here. Don't take Charles #1 overall. Take McCoy. The Chiefs starting offensive line is mediocre at best and same goes for their WR corps. Defenses will be keying on Charles every single play. Charles will still have a great season but not the same as last year.

Same situation here. First pick in the CF All Stars league. McCoy or Charles... GAH!

I agree with this. Manning scored the most points by a significant margin last year.

The argument is that the difference between the top tier QBs and Second teir is less than the difference between the top tier RBs and the second tier.

It's not a question this year at all. McCoy all day long. It's common sense. Vikings have no passing game so they run run run. Not hard to stop that. Same with the Chiefs. JC is the main back and is always going to be the focus of defenses when he is on the field. Kelly is a genius as stated above. His offense is potent and you never know what he will do or come up with.
