Will be with the Iowa Cubs starting tomorrow. Put up some very nice numbers at Double A, 68 games .355 avg, 22 hr's, 58 RBI.

@KrisBryant_23: Can't wait to join the @IowaCubs tomorrow! Thank you to @smokiesbaseball and all my teammates for so many great memories!

It's about ******* time. Here are his stats on the year, where he ranks in the Southern League, and how big his lead is or how much he trails the leader by:

BA: .355 (1st, 30 points better than anyone else)
OBP: .458 (1st, 48 points better)
SLG%: .702 (1st, 105 points better)
OPS: 1.160 (1st, 164 points better)
Walks: 43 (1st, 4 more)
Total bases: 174 (1st, 29 more)
RBI: 58 (1st, 2 more)
HR: 22 (1st, 9 more)
Hits: 88 (1st, 9 more)
Runs: 61 (1st, 15 more)

The only stats where he didn't lead the league were strikeouts (2nd with 77) and doubles (3rd with 20). And as I just demonstrated, most of his leads in the respective categories were just ******* ridiculous. This is the kind of player you create while playing a video game, not a real person.

Cubs need him now.

He wont make a difference in getting the Cubs as contenders for the Division, so hold your horses. Let the kid mature in the minors...the last things the Cubs need to do is bring him up too soon and have to send him back down after a month.

I'm playing the National Anthem this Saturday, come heckle me. Hopefully see some good ball even though I'm an A's fan. Maybe Manny will be there.

Not to mention arbitration considerations. Don't want to bring him up too soon, or that clock starts.

At this point Houston must feel that they made a mistake in drafting Mark Appel ahead of Bryant. Appel currently has a 6.34 ERA in Class A and Rookie league ball in 16 starts since signing.

Plus, if the Cubs aren't going to contend for a playoff spot I don't see any advantage in winning a couple more games. Would rather get another high draft spot for next year instead.

Yep, Bryant is a Scott Boras client so try and hold off Bryant's free agency year for as long as you can.

Appel is having trouble with that weird type of rotation the Astros low minors run I think is what I read.

Or worse...keep him in the majors, letting him keep striking out and the fans riding him, where he loses all confidence and get traded after a few unspectacular years like Corey Patterson and Felix Pie.

Was at the Southern League All-Star game yesterday and he looked the part. Missed the home run derby the night before but heard it was a good show! He didn't really put on a show at the game but was good to see him in person.

To be fair to Patterson, he was really coming on strong at the time of his knee injury and was never the same player again after that. He's still one of my favorite MLB players, though; loved watching him in DSM as a kid.

Heard somebody (maybe Birch) about the "core 4" in the minor leagues. Supposedly the future. Who would they be? Obviously Bryant and Baez but who are the other two?
