They updated their troubleshooting page now:

Test Result:
Known Outage Found

An outage has been reported in your area. Our technicians are looking into it, and it should be resolved within 24 hours.

That's really surprising. I can't remember a time I've ever lost my connection with them, and customer support is almost always Midwestern sounding to me.

I think they have an L1 support or call center in Sioux City or Omaha.

But getting beyond L1 is near impossible. They're troubleshooting track book just consists of a big page that says "unplug the modem for 10 seconds".

That is a great first step in troubleshooting ... and can remove calls before they need escalation. I don't see what the problem is...

WHO lost power right before they did the 5 am news. I haven't laughed so hard as when they tried to do the weather and she had printed out the radar and tried to show it to the camera. A radio guy would have done just fine. I wonder if Centurylink doesn't have servers or major equipment that also lost power.

I know this thread is about an outage, but Im surprised by those who are complaining about CL. We have had it for nearly 5 years in Ankeny, and I dont recall nay major outages or bad experiences with it in that time.

Down in Ankeny. Restarted my router and it came right up. I rarely have CLink problems and when I have called, I get their Sioux City call center most of the time.

Still down for anyone? Mine still isn't working but the online troubleshooter says I shouldn't be affected by an outage.
