Re: Uh-oh... only one way ISU makes a bowl
In other news, I swing 12" and just won the lottery.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -
Re: Uh-oh... only one way ISU makes a bowl
The only possible way for that OP to work is if length makes right. Otherwise, a lot of writing for absolutely nothing. Nice work.

Making sure I pile on the windmill post before close.
They say that English surnames came from what you did with your life. I'm so glad my last name isn't Dickinson. -

"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

Re: Uh-oh... only one way ISU makes a bowl
I originally did it based off of who to root for and at the end I saw 7 teams above 6-6 as at large bowlers and remembered the Hawkeye incident in 2007. Work was done before the 7-5 statement got added and probably should have left it as a prediction of what non-big 12 bowl we make it to. My bad.
Didn't realize they changed the 7-5 rule (link for change please as I missed that one) -

Didn't realize they changed the 7-5 rule (link for change please as I missed that one) Starting with the 2010–11 bowl season, the rule that required the selection of seven-win teams before any 6–6 teams was eliminated.[5] The first season of the new rule saw Temple go uninvited despite going 8–4, including a win over eventual Big East BCS representative Connecticut. In the 2011-12 bowl season, the UCLA Bruins were invited to a bowl game despite a losing record (6-7), while 7-5 winning team Western Kentucky and 6-6 non-losing team Ball State did not receive invites. Oh oh. Four more terams won their sicxth today with UCONN and Pitt having a chance next game. Not looking good for a bowl other than Shreveport.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I had high hopes for the Military Bowl, but I missed their contingency with the MAC. If Rice loses to UTEP, it will still have an open slot to fill, against a team like Bowling Green or Ohio. But Rice is 5-6 and UTEP is 3-8.
Meanwhile, the Independence Bowl will likely have two open slots to fill as neither of its tie-ins will get made and it has no contingencies. Would likely be ISU against a mid-major - perhaps one of the Louisiana schools from the Sun Belt.
