I will say, i much prefer the big 10's way of doing things than the SEC. The SEC drug out the process forever, publicly, while with nebraska and now possibly maryland\rutgers it seems they do a good job at keeping it behind closed doors until theyre ready to make the announcement. It was like a week from when we knew Nebraska might be leaving to when they were gone (as opposed to the several months for TAMU\Mizzou)
The other question is, where will the big 10 go after Maryland\Rutgers? 14 is an odd number to be at for scheduling (and we've seen the SEC complain about it).

Some like to argue that Texas and Oklahoma, or a school like Georgia Tech are part of their end game. I doubt that.
I think 15-16 eventually include Virginia and North Carolina. You get those schools and that would be a massive amount of TV sets to go along with more traditional college towns/fanbases than schools like Rutgers.

Probably think they're still chasing the ND pipe dream...destabilize the ACC, try to reignite FSU to big 12, get SEC to move up the east coast and try to strong arm ND into spot 15 or 16.
Who knows, but I don't know how else this would be a "response to ND's ACC move," other than trying to sabotage it.
I agree this is a stupid move by the big10, and to new seems a little desperate. I don't see any momentum gained, NYC and DC markets careless about CFB.....
This does not matter. I don't see how people still struggle with this point. BTN gets carriage in those areas on cable now. That is a ******** of homes. It really doesn't matter if people watch it or not. The $$$$ will still grow exponentially for the BTN and subsequentially the Big 10.
Well good The Big Ten can get richer crappy teams, its like the MAC with a lot of money. It is only a matter of time before players get paid boys. Why every ******* year with this ****, at least we are safe AGAIN, but do we jump on the expansion train?
Delaney is a genius. Making more money while making an already crappy product more crappy is genius.
Whether this is serious or not it raises a good point. At some point people want to see contenders and playoff teams. The Big Ten is looking like Ohio State, Penn State and their disgusting mess, has beens in Neb and Mich, and a whole lot of bad teams plus some new bad ACC teams.
It's already viewed as minor league football compared to the SEC, Big 12 and even Pac 12. I don't get how they'd want to expand further with bad football teams. At some point you're still just selling bad football regardless of how many people are potential buyers. There's a reason Rutgers doesn't hold the NY/NY market.
I don't see any way schools can get 40-50 million per year from tv and not pay players.
This, and if they get this much a year their should be somewhere in the contract to give back a nice charity donation to their communities. For gosh sakes this is getting out of hand.

North Carolina isn't leaving. They run the show in the ACC when it comes to conference decisions. That's one of the reasons Maryland, Clemson, FSU, and GTech want out. Plus the ACC commish is a UNC-CHeat alumnus.
FSU, Clemson, and Maryland are the low hanging fruit... FSU especially.
