Iowa or Nebraska?

So when Nebraska decided to run away, I decided that I would root against the team with the most to lose in this game. On paper, it would seem this is Nebraska this year with Iowa eliminated from bowl contention. But would a victory over Nebraska give Iowa fans something to be hopeful about, or not? Which way do you think the tailgate lots will be leaning on Friday?

I root for Iowa to go 0-12.

I root for Nebraska to go 1-11 with a 50-0 win over Iowa. I feel dirty when I do so. But I still do it.

I don't need a team to root for in every game, and I don't need to see every game. I'm willing to pass on this one while hoping for the Kinnick Kollapse someone hinted at earlier.

1) NU beats the Hawks leaving them devoid of all hope.
2) Oregon beats Stanford, loses to Oregon State, then wins Pac-12 championship game to go to Rose Bowl.
3) NU beats Wisky to go to Rose Bowl.
4) Notre Dame loses to USC.
5) Oregon beats Nebraska 84-0 in Rose Bowl.
6) KSU beats Alabama for NC.

And ISU wins last two games and then wears white helmets for the bowl game

If your ultimate goal is maximum disappointment, everyone should root for Iowa. Here's why:

-Iowa gains nothing significant but win.
-Nebraska potentially loses a Big Ten title shot and BCS bowl bid (So long as Michigan wins)

Here's my thought on the "rivalry": I don't want it to ever actually be a rivalry. As an ISU fan that would be the worst possible outcome. And from an ISU perspective Nebraska dominating is a better outcome than Iowa dominating. So as an Iowa State fan the best option is utter Nebraska domination over Iowa. I want the season ending"Heroes" game to be something that no one cares a single crap about.

So once a year I will swallow my pride and cheer for the Huskers. I won't like it. But it is better than the alternative.

Same with me. I grew up in SW Iowa and we only got Omaha TV. So hatred for NU is in my soul. I will definitely be for Iowa. Gig 'em!
