Iowa State falls on the road to OU by a final score of 69 to 49 . The Cyclones were paced by Megan Ronhovde's 13 points while Lyndsey Medders chipped 10 points and Toccara Ross totaled 9 points and 6 rebounds in the lost. Nicky Wieben led the team with 4 blocked shots. The lady Cyclones shot 30.4% from the field and had 10 assist to 20 turnovers.
Listening to the audio gave the impression that there was a good plan which didn't work because of shooting percentage inside and out. How much of that was us and how much was the defense, I can't say. At the early part of the game we successfully worked the ball into Pierson who was unable to convert. Had those shots gone in, . . . it might have turned out differently. But, though we were hoping, no one was realistically expecting a win in this game. The next game, home against K-State, is a different matter. The K-State game is close to a must-win if we're to finish at .500 in conference play - a likely threshold for an invite to the dance. This can happen, but, we don't have the raw talent to play poorly and win.
“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads
