Re: Paddy's and Sips seem to be having problems
Roaches found at Chasers now too, pretty sure they could find them at any of really dumpy campustown bars if they looked. WAS is the only bar that tries to keep things fixed up and somewhat cleanly imo, and it actually has a descent atmosphere.

College bars are what they are. As long as no one is getting sick from the filth, patronize at your own risk. But you'd have to be an absolute idiot to order food at one of them.

Going to Sips, Cy's, and Paddy's, I mentally prepare myself to have my shoes stick to the floor and to have to breathe stale beer and urine fumes. Maybe I'm just turning into an old stick-in-the-mud, though. I saw two fat rats humping in the supply closet at Cy's once. I had to get a couple more mugs to calm my nerves.
In hindsight it was the bartender humping some fat chick.

Maybe Bar Rescue needs to come to Ames!

Re: Paddy's and Sips seem to be having problems
I disagree with the comment about college bars all being that way. I've been to quite a few college towns for games (Stillwater, Iowa City, Columbia, Norman) and ISU's are by far the nastiest. I'd rather pay $.50 more for a beer and be able to sit and stand in the place for awhile then drink in a complete dump

I think it's the syphillis that the bars are filled with on the weekends. Need a condom just to walk into Sips.

Es Tas uses toothpicks to hold the meat in the tacos when they are fried. Kitchen worker just messed up and forgot to take one out. They're clean after being fried at such high temps. Not like it came out of someones mouth. Just saying.

For Campustown's sake, it's probably best a tornado tears through and levels the area. Make sure it's about 3pm during the summer with plenty of notice for people to get the hell out. Tornado comes through and flattens everything. Each business worth their salt has insurance. When indemnified rebuild.
That's about the only thing that's going to help out Campustown.

That's about the only thing that's going to help out Campustown. Maybe al qaeda will extend their forest fire strategy to ****** college town bars.
But yeah, i agree, itd be great to knock things down and rebuild as a new entertainment district.
Though, you say 'each business worth their salt has insurance'.... are we sure this applies to campustown businesses? Most businesses worth their salt don't let their conditions deteriorate to being ********* either, but here we are.
