The Iowa State women’s basketball team is set to take on Oklahoma State on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament that will take place in Oklahoma City.

The Cyclones (20-9, 9-9) will attempt to win their second of three games against the Cowgirls (22-7, 11-7). In the first matchup between the two teams, on January 11, No. 15 Oklahoma State upset No. 11 Iowa State 69-62 in Hilton Coliseum. That handed the Cyclones their first loss of the season.

The Cyclones that got revenge the second time around, on February 26, picking up the 86-69 win over the No. 15 Cowgirls in Stillwater, behind a big performance from junior guard Nikki Moody. Moody finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the winning effort.

Iowa State Coach Bill Fennelly does not expect many adjustments from Oklahoma State since the two teams played so recently.

“This time of year you can make minor tweaks,” Fennelly said. “You can’t make a whole lot of changes, we have all played 29 games, there are no 10-day contracts, we aren’t adding anybody. You are who you are now.”

Senior guard Tiffany Bias, who is averaging 14.4 points per and 6.1 assists per game has led the Cowgirls this season.

With a win on Saturday, the Cyclones would play either Baylor or the winner of a first round game between Kansas and Kansas State.

Saturday’s quarterfinal will be broadcasted on Fox Sports Network.
