Iowa State women to host Mississippi State in Big 12/SEC Challenge

The full Iowa State women’s basketball schedule is yet to be released, but we did learn one big game on Monday. The Big 12 and SEC announced the schedule for their annual challenge and Iowa State will host Mississippi State on Dec. 3 at Hilton Coliseum.

The Bulldogs went 28-8 last season before losing in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament to eventual national champion UCONN. They are ranked No. 12 in ESPN’s way-too-early preseason top 25.

MSU returns almost everybody from last year’s squad that set a school record for wins for the second year in a row. They’re led by honorable mention All-American Victoria Vivians, who averaged 17.1 points per game last year during her sophomore season.

Iowa State also has most everyone returning from their team that went 13-17 last season, the program’s first sub-.500 record since 2002-03.

Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic over the next few weeks for more news on the Iowa State women’s basketball schedule as it becomes available.
